I'm only talking about the official 20.04 release. If I start it with -verbose, I get messages like. If I start the manager it tries to connect to the server but fails. Client reports version 7.0.65 for i686-pc-linux-gnu. I also can't say what behavior is like for the 20.04 beta release. The client and server run OK AFAICS (I only had to install the wx libraries). I can't say for 19, I don't use short term releases. it only happens in 20.04, doesn't happen in 18.04. Keith confirmed the startup lag behavior in his install of 20.04 as well. The only question is how many GPUs will be needed to move my top machine to #3 at Einstein. It seems to be working very well with the current number 7, 14, and 20 computers at Einstein. The Xbox CPU (Celeron) isn't exactly fit for crunching, too.ĭoesn't mean it won't work on other BOINC projects. You won't be able to use it for seti, unless you upgrade it's memory (requires soldering of smd parts, ugh.) Sorry to disappoint you, but the old Xbox only has 64MB. ![]()
